
The SCIC Appreciation Award is to acknowledge individuals who have made valuable contributions to the chemical industry through their involvement in SCIC.
SCIC is pleased to present the Appreciation Award 2023 to the following industry members during the SCIC Annual Dinner held on 21 April 2023.
Mr Gil Perez is the Director of Global Product Stewardship at Procter & Gamble International Operations Singapore. He leads the Emerging Regulations Working Group for SCIC and promotes regulatory cooperation in the ASEAN region through his involvement in the ASEAN Regulatory Cooperation Project. His leadership and involvement have helped minimize trade barriers for chemical companies by various initiatives and activities towards advocating the development of regional chemical management regulations in a convergence approach.
Er Lucas Ng is currently the Senior Advisor and Head of Sustainability at Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore. He has been a strong supporter of SCIC through his involvement in driving various industry initiatives and programs. He has also played a crucial role in the Standards Development Organisation (SDO), supporting the role as the Chairman for the Chemical Standards Committee (CSC). Under his leadership, the CSC has made remarkable progress and success in the development and review of Singapore Standards. The management of these standards has reinforced our efforts in advocating for the chemical industry through the development of appropriate standards, providing a platform for information exchange, and supporting the needs of industry members.
Er Ng Chee Wai is the General Manager (Plant) for Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore. He has been an active member of the SCIC Responsible Care Committee since 2013 and was appointed as Committee Chairman from 2015 to 2022. During his tenure, he led the implementation of the Responsible Care programme for Singapore's chemical industry and introduced initiatives and programs to help companies in their Responsible Care practices. Chee Wai also drove various activities, including enhancing the self-evaluation form and evaluations of Responsible Care Award submissions. His leadership and contributions have played a vital role in promoting Responsible Care in the chemical industry of Singapore and have resulted in significant improvements in Health, Safety, Environment & Security.
