On 21 April 2023, SCIC held its Annual Dinner and Responsible Care Awards presentation at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore. This was a momentous occasion as it was the first time since 2019 that a full-scale dinner could be held, with 270 participants in attendance. The highlight of the event was the presentation of 116 Responsible Care Awards to 34 deserving companies. The Responsible Care awards are presented annually to recognise the commitment of signatory companies in improving their performances in the area of Health, Safety, Environment and Security. In the Chairman speech, he announced that a new set of Responsible Care guidelines would be curated for the Process Construction and Maintenance (PCM) partners. The SCIC RC Committee would work closely with ASPR and its members to curate a relevant and fit-for-purpose guidelines for PCM partners to adopt the Responsible Care programme.
In alignment with WSH 2028 strategies, SCIC will enhance the Responsible Care Employee Health and Safety code to include additional management practices on health element.
SCIC will continue to strive together with the RC Committee and industry stakeholders in pushing the efforts of Responsible Care.
