The Security Watch Group initiative was launched by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in 2003 to enable collaboration between the commercial sector for the protection of their premises. The programme was upgraded in 2006 to encompass a broader approach to safety and security, leading to the Safety and Security Watch Group (SSWG) initiative. This program allows the police to engage with businesses and form watch groups to discuss and develop strategies to enhance workplace safety and security against crime and terrorism.
SCIC supports the close collaboration with SPF towards the fight against crimes. Together with other 36 stakeholders, SCIC is pleased to receive the Outstanding Community Partnership Award (OCPA) presented by SPF during the Expansion of Retailer iSSWG cum Stakeholder Networking Session held on 17 Feb 2023.
