TR 80 is the world's first standard that details the steps needed to carry out meter verification process using master mass flow meter. Alongside SS 648 Code of practice for bunker mass flow metering and SS 660 Code of practice for bunker cargo delivery from oil terminal to bunker tanker using mass flow meter, this standard serves to enhance Singapore’s bunkering hub status by building trust and confidence with fair trade principles, promote growth and improve industry and business sustainability for the benefit of all stakeholders in our domestic bunkering industry.
Held on 24 Nov 2020, the TR 80 webinar event was attended by more than 120 participants and introduced the highlights of the new standard as well as an overview of how standards support the bunker supply chain system.
Users of TR 80 include oil terminals, vendors of Coriolis mass flow meters, bunker suppliers, surveyors, meter verification service providers, bunker tanker owners and operators, shipowners/buyers, bunkering support service providers, and relevant authorities.
TR 80 reflects the requirements and procedures for meter verification using a master MFM to verify and check the stability and performance of a duty meter installed on a bunker tanker or at the oil terminal. TR 80 can be applied along the bunker supply chain as illustrated in the diagram below.
