Training Workshop on “Human Factors in Accident Investigation”

SCIC organised a training workshop on “Human Factors in Accident Investigation” on 20 to 21 May 2021. This is the third workshop on the series of training on human factors in safety programmes that SCIC has collaborated with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).

The virtual workshop was attended by 21 participants from the industry. The participants were provided with the knowledge to enhance their understanding on the capabilities and limitations of human cognition including the attention level, different perceptions and decision-making approaches.

Extensive group exercise and discussions among the participants were part of the 2-day training which provided the participants an opportunity to apply the concepts taught. This included the error analysis methodologies in determining the root causes of accidents.

This series of customised training on Human Factors in safety programmes for the chemical industry was introduced part of SCIC continued efforts on building industry capacity and capability in their safety performance
