The annual AMEICC meeting took place via the virtual platform on 26 Aug 2021 and well attended by government and industry representatives from Japan and the ASEAN Member States (AMSs).
The Meeting was co-chaired by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Sinh, Deputy Director General of Vietnam Chemicals Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam and Ms. Kobayashi Asako, Director for International Affairs, Material Industries Division, Manufacturing Industries Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan.
AMEICC serves as the platform in connecting economies in this region where exchanges of updates on various chemical related regulations and policies in AMSs were shared and discussed.
Singapore’s participation through SCIC allows us to build a closer rapport with the industry and regulators from other AMS and to be kept informed of the developments of chemical control regulations. This will help to strengthen SCIC’s position in driving our regional regulatory advocacy issues on behalf of our members with other AMS.
