The annual AMEICC meeting was conducted virtually on 6 Aug 2020 and well attended by government and industry representatives from Japan and ASEAN Member States (AMSs). The 3-hour session provided an opportunity to share updates on various chemical-related regulations and policies in AMSs, including exchanges on mitigation efforts on impact to the chemical industry due to COVID-19 and plastic waste management initiatives.
SCIC’s participation in such platforms allows us to build a closer rapport with the industry and regulators from other AMS and to be kept informed of the developments in chemical control regulations, which will help to strength SCIC’s position in driving our regional regulatory advocacy issues on behalf of our members with other AMS.
