As part of the ARCP’s ongoing industry capacity and capability efforts to continue building knowledge on chemical management for the ASEAN community, a series of mini webinars have been planned in 2021.

The first mini webinar was held on 21 May 2021 which was well attended by more than 100 delegates from the ASEAN members states (AMS). The programme was curated to focus on experience sharing on the practical approach of regulatory implementation on the following:

  • Singapore and Chinese Taipei’s GHS Implementation - GHS versus DG
    Presented by:
    • Singapore Ministry of Manpwoer and Singapore Civil Defence Force
    • Chinese Taipei Safety and Health Technology Center (SAHTECH)

  • Chinese Taipei's Chemical Inventory (CI_Implementation)
    Presented by:
    • Chinese Taipei Safety and Health Technology Center (SAHTECH)

Positive feedback was received from both the regulator and industry delegates on the relevance of the knowledge exchange. The sharing of GHS implementation experiences by Singapore and CI implementation experiences by Chinese Taipei including the challenges encountered, the approaches in addressing implementation issues, the practical resources needed and some good practices have provided the delegates invaluable insights and references for their country’s regulatory implementation.

More of such mini-webinars would be organised in the upcoming months for the AMS. The ARCP will remain a key initiative of the chemical industry’s efforts towards achieving chemical regulatory cooperation in the ASEAN region with the continued extension support by the industry and regulators of the AMS.
