The ARCP organizes regular mini-webinars to help build knowledge on chemical management, aligning to the objective of ARCP in promoting enhanced regulatory cooperation and convergence practices across the ASEAN Member States (AMS).
The first mini webinar for 2024 was held on 3 May, which was well attended by more than 140 delegates from the AMS. With increasing observations made on AMS Customs’ practices to request for 100% compositional disclosure, the objective of the mini-webinar was to enhance knowledge related to chemicals management especially for the Customs’ officers of the AMS.
With focus on chemicals inward clearance process of chemicals, the key topics of sharing included industry practices through the Responsible Care® Product Safety and Security as well as the good practices sharing by Singapore Customs. The ARCP New Substance Notification (NSN) workgroup also provided an update on the revisions to the draft NSN guidance document based on the feedback and discussions from the last ARCP workshop in Nov 2023.
The ARCP organizing committee would like to thank the speakers, Mr Dan Roczniak of American Chemistry Council and Ms Zona Pow of Singapore Customs for their support in sharing valuable insights on some practices from both Industry and Government’s perspectives.
Launched in 2021, the ARCP mini-webinars have garnered significant positive feedback from participating delegates. With the continued support and collaboration of industry stakeholders and regulators in the AMS, the ARCP will remain a key driver in the chemical industry's pursuit of achieving regulatory cooperation and convergence in the ASEAN region.
