On 20th Sept 2019, chemical industry companies gathered together with our extended stakeholders including government agencies, members of the public, students and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) at East Coast Park for the finale of the “Clear Shores, Clean Waters” Campaign in 2019.
The event was graced by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for the Environment and Water Resources.
The event also saw the launch of the Operation Clean Sweep programme for the Singapore chemical industry, and SCIC will continue to engage our plastic supply chain partners as we work together in preventing the leakage of plastic pellets, flakes and powder loss into the environment.
With the collective effort from all 571 participants at the International Coastal Beach Clean-Up Event, a total of 1040 kg of trash was collected of which 493 kg was general trash and 547 kg was plastic trash respectively.
