SCIC hosts its second webinar with Singapore Police Force (SPF)

SCIC hosted its second webinar with SPF on 2nd August 2021, following the successful organisation of the inaugural session in 2020.

This year’s webinar commenced with Mr Hishashi Shibayama, SCIC Board Director and AC Charles Shng, Director of Community Partnership Department, SPF, addressing their welcome remarks.

The first speaker, Supt Lim Cher Chong, Commanding Officer of Jurong East Neighbourhood Police Centre, SPF, presented an insightful sharing on the significance of conducting table-top exercise which highlighted an important collective responsibility in ensuring the safety and security of Jurong Island. In his presentation, he also emphasized that the enforcement of robust security measures is paramount for the protection of Jurong Island.

Mr Wang Wei Zheng, Manager, Outreach and Engagement in Centre for Protective Security from SPF then provided a presentation which shared perspectives into how buyers of security services can adopt outcome-based contracts (OBCSs) to overcome challenges encountered by the industry. He also shared the principles associated with OBCs, how OBCs can be implemented as well as showcased the best practices and successful cases of OBC adoption.

In addition to the presentations by SPF, Mr Simon Tan, Cluster Security Manager, Shell, also shared with the participants on industry’s practices on security performances including adopting a more holistic and forward-looking approach to better protect corporate operations and needs especially in the evolution of the operating landscape with Smart City Solution and Industry 4.0.

The webinar ended with the Q & A discussions which provided an opportunity for the industry to seek any further clarification on the information shared.
