On 16 April 2026, the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) hosted its Annual Dinner 2026 and Responsible Care Awards 2025 at the Shangri‑La Hotel Singapore, bringing together industry leaders, partners and stakeholders to recognise continuous efforts and progress in Responsible Care. The event was graced by Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade & Industry, Ministry of National Development.

Opening Remarks by SCIC Chairman, Mr Henri Nejade

In his speech, Mr Henri addressed the industry’s performance amid an increasingly complex global landscape. He highlighted the importance of resilience, collaboration and consistency in upholding high standards in health, safety, security and environmental performance across the sector.

Responsible Care Awards 2025 Presentation

This year, a total of 92 Responsible Care Awards were presented to 37 companies across the manufacturing, logistics and services, and trading sectors. These awards recognised organisations that demonstrated strong commitment and performance in implementing Responsible Care principles across multiple codes.

The presentation also included the Leadership Awards, presented to PCS PTE. LTD. and Sumitomo Chemical Asia Singapore Pte Ltd – MMA Plant. These awards represent the highest level of recognition, honouring companies with a proven track record of excellence and long‑term commitment to Responsible Care.

Process, Construction and Maintenance (PCM) Responsible Care Recognition Awards

Eight dedicated PCM Responsible Care Recognition Awards were presented to companies that participated in the PCM Pilot RC Submissions. This also reflects SCIC’s ongoing efforts to extend Responsible Care principles beyond chemical manufacturers, reinforcing a strong safety culture across the wider industry ecosystem.

Building on the positive response to the pilot, SCIC will continue working closely with the Association of Process Industry (ASPRI) to progressively expand participation to more PCM companies. SCIC also encourages member companies to actively engage and onboard their PCM partners, strengthening Responsible Care adoption across the industry value chain.

Entertainment Performance by Azalea Band

The evening featured a meaningful performance by Azalea Band, an inclusive ensemble made up of musicians with physical and sensory impairments. Through their music, the band showcased how determination, creativity and mutual support can transform individual challenges into a powerful and engaging artistic performance.

Looking Ahead

Beyond recognising excellence, the SCIC Annual Dinner and Responsible Care Awards served as a valuable platform for industry leaders, member companies and partners to connect, exchange perspectives and strengthen collaboration across the sector. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on shared priorities and reaffirm collective commitment to high standards of safety, sustainability and responsibility.

As the industry continues to navigate an evolving global landscape, SCIC remains committed to fostering partnerships, encouraging best practices and advancing Responsible Care as a cornerstone of long‑term trust and sustainable growth for the chemical industry.
