On 20 July 2026, the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC), in partnership with ASPRI, successfully organised the Responsible Care Sharing Session for Process, Construction and Maintenance (PCM) Companies, bringing together 32 participants from across the PCM sector.
The session aimed to introduce the Responsible Care Programme to PCM companies and raise awareness of the programme's value in promoting health, safety, security and environmental standard. It also provided companies with practical insights into the benefits of becoming a Responsible Care signatory.
The programme began with an Introduction to Responsible Care, where participants were given an overview of the programme, its guiding principles and the pathway for companies to participate.
Participants also heard first-hand experiences from industry representatives who shared their Responsible Care journeys:
- Responsible Care Journey by PCS Pte. Ltd., presented by Mr. Foo Suan Kim, who shared the company's experience in implementing Responsible Care and the positive impact it has had on its operations and organisational culture.
- Pilot Submission Experience and Benefits by Rotary Engineering Pte. Ltd., presented by Dr. Babu Sajeesh, who shared Rotary Engineering's experience as a pilot participant, highlighting the submission process, key learnings and the benefits gained from participating in the programme.
The sharing session provided a valuable platform for participants to learn from industry peers, ask questions and better understand how Responsible Care can support continuous improvement and strengthen industry best practices.
SCIC extends its appreciation to ASPRI for partnering with us to organise this session, as well as to PCS PTE. LTD. and Rotary Engineering Pte. Ltd. for sharing their valuable experiences with the participants.
