Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is a a voluntary programme designed to support chemical companies across the plastics value chain in the drive to achieve zero pellet, flake and powder loss in their operations.

A sharing session on OCS for regional plastic associations was conducted on 28 09 2021, hosted by SCIC and co-hosted by ExxonMobil, with the goal to spread awareness on OCS and to invite more companies to support the drive. The session was attended by various plastic associations representing different countries across Asia.

The session was kickstarted by Mr Chan Kwee-Lin from ExxonMobil who provided the welcome address, following which SCIC presented on its role as an OCS administrator for Singapore. After SCIC’s presentation, Mr Teddy Yong from ExxonMobil shared the best practices which can assist companies to effectively implement and drive OCS in their companies. The meeting was wrapped up with a Q & A discussion, which was enthusiastically participated in by the attendees. The participating plastic associations generally expressed interest to come onboard as the administrator of OCS for their respective countries.

SCIC would like to thank the co-host, ExxonMobil, and all the attendees for supporting the OCS sharing session. We look forward to continued engagements with the plastic associations from across the world and drive initiatives to support the sustainability of the chemical industry and the environment.
