SCIC recognises individuals who have contributed to the development of the chemical industry in Singapore. We are pleased to have presented the SCIC Recognition Award to the following recipient at the recent SCIC Responsible Care Awards Presentation Ceremony held on 5 Mar 2021.
SCIC Recognition Award – Ms Susan Chong
Since the appointment of SCIC as the Standards Development Organisation (SDO) for the Chemical Standards Committee (CSC) by Enterprise Singapore (previously known as SPRING Singapore) in 2011, Ms Susan Chong has been the Advisor of SDO@SCIC in guiding the team in managing the CSC, its technical committees and working groups for 9 years.
Her commitment and guidance have been invaluable to the SDO@SCIC team during its infancy stage, with her vast experience in national and international standardisation programmes contributing to the establishment of a robust team that accomplished standards work that exceeded targets for three consecutive terms.
From 2019 to 2020, Ms Chong steered the SDO@SCIC team in the development of an industry-wide Case Study to quantify the economic benefits of Singapore’s Technical Reference on Bunker Mass Flow Metering which was successfully launched in October 2020. Ms Chong’s active contribution and dedication in the case study also provided her with the depth of knowledge for the profiling of the case study for ISO and the various international shipping and bunkering platforms.
