As part of the initiatives by the SCIC Process & Engineering (P&E) Committee , a webinar on “Overpressure Protection” for the Chemical Industry was lined up to generate greater interest and awareness among members of companies through sharing and learning from one another.
Organised on 15 April 2021 via Zoom, the webinar sharing was well-attended by more than 40 participants and provided them valuable insights in enhancing their awareness on the importance of relief devices and the analysis of pressure relief systems, including the flare system.
Highlights of the sharing session included:
- Introduction to Overpressure Protection by Mr Jonathan Ng, Chairman of P&E committee
- Sharing on Pressure Relief Analysis and Flare Quantitative Risk Analysis by Mr Hiew Kwan Chon of Siemens Energy Pte Ltd
- Closing remarks by Ms Ng Mee Lin, Member of P&E committee
