The Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) together with the Association of Process Industry (ASPRI) and the Workplace Safety & Health Council jointly organised a sharing e-forum, themed “Steering Towards Safer Roads for All”.

As an initiative of Jurong Island Vision Zero (JIVZ) Group, the organisation of such sharing forums allows open sharing of good WSH practices that aims to drive greater WSH ownership and culture among the Jurong Island community.

In addition to the previous JIVZ forums’ sharing on the safe management of process operations which is critical in our Vision Zero’s commitment towards achieving zero incidents, the scope of sharing in the JIVZ held on 7 April 2021 was focused on the importance of road safety.

The 150 participants who had attended took away valuable knowledge and perspectives on workplace traffic management which forms an integral part of the industry’s operations.

We would like to thank the following speakers for their insightful sharing during the forum:

  • Mr Mohd Amir, Assistant Director, Jurong Island Security Ops Div., JTC Corporation
  • Superintendent Jimmy Law, Commanding Officer, Traffic Police, Singapore Police Force
  • Mr Fabio Garagiola, Singapore Refinery Manufacturing Director, ExxonMobil Asia Pacific
  • Ms Dorcas Teo, Executive Director, Nordic Group

In the speech by Er Lucas Ng, Chairman of the JIVZ group, we all look forward to the active participation of the Jurong Island community in future sharing forums to be organised as we continue to learn from one another and implement good practices in the respective organisation.
