As we come together with our value chain partners in progressively driving towards the development of a sustainable waste management ecosystem for Singapore, SCIC organised the Industry Sharing Forum on “Waste Management and the Circular Economy” on 25 Nov 2020.
Working concurrently since April, the session provided the platform to share progress updates from the four action workgroups with the below focus areas, and the perspectives offered by the stakeholders will be invaluable in directing industry’s efforts towards a sustainable waste management ecosystem.
- Waste stream characterisation
- Collection and sorting improvements (at source)
- Roll-out of a suitable Extended Producer Responsibility for Singapore
- Public, Private Partnerships
In the meantime, members can keep a lookout for the upcoming Sustainability Conference which will be happening in 2021 Q1.
