The 8 March 2019 event, which attracted more than 300 participants, showcased the development of upcoming safety standards in the chemical industry as well as the introduction to key topics within SS 641.
Standards play an important role in improving productivity, drive sustainability and support new growth areas in Singapore. The launch of SS 641 sets out the requirements for safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous laboratory chemicals so as to safeguard workers’ health, safety and the environment.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force is expected to use SS 641 as part of its fire safety requirements for industry conformance.
