The inaugural Earth Day beach clean-up event was held on 26 April 2019 at Pasir Ris Park, organised as part of the "Clear Shores, Clean Waters" campaign

Supported by 140 enthusiastic volunteers from 8 chemical companies, a record total of 430 kg of plastics trash and 280 kg of general trash was collected.

With our participants diligently combing the beach on a casual Friday morning, this caught the interest of curious passer-bys who were amazed by the bags of trash collected and stacked at the various drop-off collection points along the beach.

Below are several comments from our participating companies.

“An eye-opening experience regarding the state of Singapore’s coastline” – The Polyolefin Company (S) Pte Ltd

“A very well-organised event and it is great to see the industry coming together to do its part in tackling a global issue” – Chevron Phillips Chemical Company

"A truly eye-opening event that has convicted me to do my part in minimizing waste for the sake of our future generations" – ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific

We look forward to having more member companies to join us at the upcoming Beach Clean-up Event in support of World Environment Day on 31 May 2019 (Friday).
