On 21 October 2023, SCIC organised ChemEx, the Chemical Industry Experience 2023. This year, it is the 16th year running since its inception in 2008.
ChemEx 2023 drew a total of 433 enthusiastic participants from 9 Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs). This annual event provided a unique platform for students who studied Chemical related courses to explore the practical applications of their studies and connect with potential future employers.
One of the highlights of ChemEx 2023 was the opportunity to visit either the Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE2) or a site visit of a company on Jurong Island. These visits offered an eye-opening experience of the real-world applications of the concepts learned in classroom, allowing a deeper understanding of the industry.
Following the insightful visit, participants gathered at the Oasis@Sakra, to interact with industry professionals and understand the job opportunities, prospect and progression for them after graduating from their course of studies.
