Ensuring Safe Ammonia Bunkering Operations: Standards, Practical Learnings and Insights - Sharing of Singapore’s Technical Reference on ammonia bunkering
The international maritime industry is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, spurring a shift from traditional heavy fuel oil to low carbon marine fuels such as ammonia.
This seminar aims to provide practical insights from pilot projects to enable ammonia bunkering. The key topics include custody transfer requirements, safety procedures and requirements to address bunkering operational challenges and support regulatory frameworks.
New standards for ammonia bunkering have been developed in collaboration across industry, government, and research institutions. The event aims to communicate the new recommendations and standards to aid the various stakeholders in effective risk management, building crew competency through comprehensive trainings and establishment of robust regulatory compliance.
