Introduction
Climate change continues to be a pressing issue at a global scale, impacting the environment by causing steep rise in temperatures. Emission of industrial greenhouse gases is the primary culprit of global warming, with carbon dioxide forming the most significant portion of the greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.
The chemical industry constantly strives to achieve the target of net zero emission of greenhouse gases to play its part in easing the burden on the environment. This strategically supports the chemical industry players’ sustainability efforts and plans to address challenges and threats to their long-term competitiveness.
Objective
SCIC Conference 2022, themed “Towards Net Zero Emission”, aims to provide an industry platform for members of the chemical industry to be kept aware of the up-to-date developments on feasible solutions, the know-how knowledge in identifying solutions and holistic approaches in supporting individual’s decarbonization efforts.
With constraint resources in Singapore, such close-connected network of multi-stakeholders’ cross-sharing and collaborations would be an important driver in enabling the propelling of the chemical industry towards supporting the nation’s Nationally Determined Contributions.
Key highlights
- Future Energy Landscape for a Low Carbon Economy
- Technology Mapping and Opportunities in the Energy & Chemicals Sector
- Digitally-enabled “Plug and Play” Infrastructure: A future-state Approach to Supporting Singapore’s Green Economy
