TRAINING COURSE ON WORKFACE PLANNING LEVEL- 1 (BASIC)
BACKGROUND
The Productivity Council (PC), adopted the Workface Planning (WFP) to standardise the process of organizing and delivering all the elements necessary for an installation work package before the work is started. This proactive process enables craft workers to perform their work safely, effectively, and efficiently. WFP process can be used to assess the existing planning and productivity improvement efforts made by companies and also to prepare a detailed project plan.
The methodology was adopted from CII (Construction Industry Institute) during PC-Phase 1 (2015-2018). Though the WFP methodology has been customised for Singapore site environment and maintenance activities by the Pilot projects workgroup, there is a growing need to accelerate implementation to achieve productivity improvements.
OBJECTIVES
The WFP Level-1 training is to equip the PCM (Process Construction and Maintenance) industry personnel with the basic knowledge about WFP and drive productivity improvement initiatives by implementing WFP Checklist and CPS: Craft productivity Standards in their respective projects and maintenance activities. This interactive training/workshop is aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to understand and implement the concept of WFP together with Craft Productivity Standards and Lean concepts. This process promotes the efficient use of available site resources and allows the tracking of progress. It’s a detailed plan developed to ensure the availability of the Right People, Tools, Location, Time, And Scope.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Personnel from the PCM industry including site engineers, supervisors, site based junior planners, foreman, site AA productivity surveyors and observers.
