

Online workshop on SS 586 – 1 : 2021 Transport and storage of dangerous goods
The standards workshop will showcase the revised Singapore Standard SS 586 - Part 1 : 2021 Specification for hazard communication for hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods – Part 1 : Transport and storage of dangerous goods. The event will provide a comparison between the 2014 edition of the SS586 Part 1 with the newly published 2021 edition. The expected implementation of the 2021 edition will also be articulated by members of the drafting committee.
The SS 586 Series, Specification for hazard communication for hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods consists of three parts which are complementary to one another:
Part 1 : Transport and storage of dangerous goods,
Part 2 : Globally harmonised system of classification and labelling of chemicals – Singapore’s adaptations, and
Part 3 : Preparation of safety data sheets (SDS).
With an overview of the SS 586 Series (3 parts), attendees of the workshop will be able to gain brief information on the upcoming revised editions of the SS 586 Parts 2 and 3.
This standard is expected to be used by chemical manufacturers, importers, suppliers, users, and supply chain service providers and relevant government agencies / authorities.
