Virtual Launch of New Technical Reference (TR 74) on Storage, Land Transportation & Handling of LNG

LNG is increasingly being adopted as an alternative cleaner fuel solution within Southeast Asia and the development of LNG infrastructure and capabilities in Singapore has never been more important than now. Technical Reference (TR) 74 aims to establish baseline knowledge and competency in the storage, land transportation and handling of LNG, while taking into consideration of its safety, health and environmental aspects of the inherent hazard and risk relating to the handling of LNG.

The highlights of this new standard will be presented by the Working Group experts who developed TR 74 : 2020. MOM will use this standard in the assessment of LNG handling and storage so as to determine if there are adequate measures in place for ensuring safe LNG work practices. On the other hand, SCDF will be referencing to this new standard for the approval of fire safety plan submission and P&FM license application for organisations that are involved in the LNG land operations.

Potential users of TR 74 may include organisations and their service providers in oil and gas, shipyard, and logistic companies, certification bodies and professional engineers.
