Seminar of new SS 688 : 2022 Oil Spill Dispersant Part 1 – Specification, Part 2 – Application of dispersants

In Singapore, oil spill dispersants (OSD) have been part of the response strategies for combating oil spills.

With advancement in the development of OSD formulation, environmentally greener OSD made of less toxic surfactants and other substances were developed adhering to stricter specifications and more advanced testing methodologies. This has given rise to the need to develop OSD specifications and testing methodology to better safeguard the environment.

This seminar will showcase the new Singapore Standard SS 688: 2022 Part 1 on Specification and Part 2 on Application of dispersants, which provide provisions for decision making in the usage of dispersants.

Highlights of the new standard will be presented by the experts of the working group (WG) who were involved in the document’s development.
