Launch of TR 56 : 2017 Technical Reference for LNG Bunkering

We are glad to inform you that the Technical Committee for LNG Bunkering and its Working Groups have completed the development of TR 56 : 2017 Technical Reference for LNG Bunkering.

The Technical Reference for LNG bunkering comes in a series of four parts:

- Part 1 : General introduction
- Part 2 : Requirements for custody transfer
- Part 3 : Procedures and safety distances
- Part 4 : Competency requirements for personnel

This first National Standard, TR 56 : 2017, is intended to support the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore in the implementation of the LNG bunkering pilot programme in 2017. This Technical Reference plays an important role in providing guidance to industry members as Singapore prepares to be LNG bunker ready as early as 2020, in view of the IMO’s implementation for 0.5% global sulphur cap in 2020.
