Junior Technician

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in English & Mathematics
  • Additional qualification in Chemical Process/ other Engineering discipline an advantage

Job Expectations:

  • Undergo and complete safety & basic operations training
  • Work in a team to support plant operations

Typical duration in this stage:

Average 2 years, subject to individual performance and competency milestones

Technician

Requirements:

  • Achieved required performance & competency milestones
  • Completed Stage 1 trainings

Job Expectations:

  • Work with minimal supervision in assigned areas e.g. field operations, maintenance/engineering, laboratory
  • Be a "work buddy" to junior technicians

Typical duration in this stage:

2-5 years, depending on type and complexity of plant operations and subject to individual performances, and competency milestones

Senior Technician

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated strong technical competence in area of operation/expertise
  • Analytical skills

Job Expectations:

  • Coach and mentor to other technicians
  • Perform troubleshooting and risk identification
  • Assume Acting Supervisory role (when needed)

Typical duration in this stage:

At least 4+ years depending on complexity of operations and demonstration of skill set, and subject to individual performances and competency milestones

Supervisor / Superintendent

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated skills and aptitude for people management
  • Extensive field experience and technical knowledge

Job Expectations:

  • Lead a team of technicians for smooth running of day-to-day operations
  • Promote & lead safety and quality initiatives
  • Manage skills and career development of team members

Typical duration in this stage:

Subject to individual performances and competency milestones and, depending on career interest, may progress to other functions and roles
